Stationary Engineers 2035 - Notice of Exam - UPDATE

 

Currently the Stationary Engineer Exam # 2035 is ON HOLD.

The July 16th, 2011 written examination day will be rescheduled.

Those who have applied will be individually notified.

 New Written exam date and new application dates will be posted as soon as they become available

The work of an Operating Engineer is complex, varied, challenging and rewarding.  Our members can be found working behind the scenes in a variety of industrial, commercial and institutional facilities including office buildings, government agencies, hospitals, theaters, television studios, and power plants to cite a few.  Operating Engineers are responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment related to Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Refrigeration, Steam Production, Power Generation, and other mechanical/electrical work.

 

 

Local 30 is a progressive trade union with an excellent track record of preparing its members for successful careers through specialized training.  We strive to develop each member's skills and maximize their potential for growth.  Members may select from among a series of course offerings to individualize their training and focus on areas of concentration of greatest benefit to them.

The Apprenticeship Training Program offers a curriculum designed to prepare an entry-level applicant for a career in Engineering.  Apprentices benefit from a cooperative learning experience which incorporates theoretical classroom instruction and practical application in shop classes and on-the-job training.  Upon completion, the graduate apprentice is ready for a lifetime of employment as a mechanic, technician or engineer.

The Skill Improvement Program offers advanced classes in the fields of Engineering.  Available to all interested Local 30 members, these courses empower the individual by building on basic theory.  Members who successfully complete these courses improve their opportunities for advancement, which can provide a better future for themselves and their families.

Local 30's Apprentice Training and Skill Improvement programs are continually reviewed and revised to keep pace with the dynamics of our changing industry and the needs of our members.  In assisting our members, as they achieve their personal and professional goals, we strengthen our Local Union and ensure a prosperous future for generations of Engineers to follow.
